We have two trips scheduled with our travel partners, Reefs to Rockies, in 2027! If you have questions, reach out to Reefs to Rockies at 303-860-6045 or at [email protected].

Trip #1
Costa Rica Birding & Cloud Forest Adventure | April 24- May 2

April was chosen for a reason! It's a wonderful time to search for Resplendent Quetzals, when males may still be showing off their spectacular breeding tail feathers. Three-wattled Bellbirds are also more likely to be encountered during this season, and there's the exciting possibility of spotting a Snowcap—a tiny, dazzling hummingbird that ranks high on many birdwatchers' Costa Rica wish lists.

Trip #2
Minnesota Summer Birding Adventure | June 5-9, 2027

Northern Minnesota is breathtaking in early summer, and this itinerary pairs outstanding birdwatching with the region's spectacular natural beauty. Our travelers especially loved spending a couple of nights along Lake Superior on this year's trip. Based on their feedback, we've added an extra day in 2027, giving us another opportunity to explore the remarkable birding at Sax-Zim Bog!

Experience One of Nature's Greatest Spectacles!

Every winter, millions of monarch butterflies transform the montane cloud forests of central Mexico into a breathtaking display of color and motion. The Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve offers a truly unforgettable wildlife experience that belongs on every nature lover's bucket list.

No two days at the monarch sanctuaries are the same. We’ll also search for montane bird species like red warblers, white-eared hummingbirds, and streak-backed oriole. Our expert guides will lead us through prime birding areas, adjusting the day’s itinerary based on weather, recent monarch movements, and bird activity.

Ride horseback and hike into the heart of the monarch butterfly reserve, where the air shimmers with millions of monarchs clinging to oyamel fir trees or soaring overhead. It’s an unforgettable encounter with one of the planet’s most extraordinary migrations.

Savor the thrill of birdwatching and the awe of the monarch migration, while immersing yourself in Mexico's rich culture and history.
